Elevated Levels

Question: Although I am asymptomatic, and have normal LTF’s, my bilirubin remains elevated (2.8).

Answer: There are several conditions which can produce an elevated bilirubin. They are all benign and have no medical significance other than an abnormal lab from time to time. The most common is called Gilbert’s Syndrome. There is also Crigler-Najjar Syndrome. Gilbert’s is actually fairly common 1% or so of patients.
