Question: I would like to have my eye brow pierced and would like to know what are the risks? Is it true that if it isn't exact you could go blind? For how long will it hurt? I know the eye is a sensitive area and really feel I need to know what risks I'm taking.

Answer: The risks are the same as for any puncture of the skin: infection, scarring, underlying tissue damage. If done in a sterile manner with good technique, the risk is minimal (but not zero) of a localized infection. There is no risk of going blind unless there is an infection which spreads to the eye, which is rare. Ensure that the area is completely clean and that the piercing needle is sterilized. Local anesthesia can be given (by a physician - many plastic surgeons will do this procedure for you which is my recommendation).
