Question: I'm a teacher at Paulista University in Brazil. I'm trying to develop a master thesis with chlorhexidine varnish and I read the study of Mr. Sandham, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. I would like to know how I can get your product here in my country.

Answer: I really don't know. I guess it depends on the import laws of Brazil. Try contacting Dr. Sandham at the University of Toronto.

Question: I'd like to find a source for Chlorzoin TM, a anticbacterial treatment for teeth. I read about the product at I have a problem with getting cavities that other therapies don't seem to address. Also, I wonder if you know of any systemic causes for susceptibility to cavities, i.e. autoimmune diseases, etc.

Answer: There are several autoimmune diseases that can increase the possibility and frequency of oral dental caries. The common mechanism of all these diseases is the involvement of the salivary glands and decreasing the ouput of saliva. This produces a "sicca" syndrome which is medical parlance for a dry mouth. This increases caries by changing the ph and buffering capacity of the fluid in the mouth. I would write/e-mail the manufacturer of Chlorzoin Tm to find an outlet source.
