Causes of Chlymidia [posted 12/09/98]
Question: What is and what causes chlymidia?

Answer: Chlamydial is an infectious organism which is transmitted usually by person to person contact. This can cause several types of infections including respiratory, urinary or sexual.

Transmission
Question: Can chlymdia be spread by spittle?

Answer: There are three or four different sub-species of chlymdia. One or two are clearly aerosolized and spread in this manner C. psittacosis. Some are probably not;but, all the means of transmission is not clear for this sub species.
