Divalproex - side effects/kidney
function [posted 1/8/99]
Question: I am seeking information regarding the use and side effects of divalproex
and its relationship to kidney function.
Answer: Depakote(divalproex sodium) is an anti-seizure drug. It has been used in the treatment of chronic pain syndromes and migraine headaches. Side effects center on liver dysfunction and alterations in white blood cells. Headache, nausea, drowsiness, tremor, and a flu like syndrome are also common. Renal problems are uncommon, but reported.

Question: Are there any side effects of zopiclone (zimovane) and clomipramine, both
on their own and together, and would that result in abnormal thinking? I have heard of a
syndrome called "serotonin syndrome". Would that be possible in this case, with
the two being taken together?
Answer: Sorry, never heard of this one.
