Hydrazine
Question: Is a drug Hydrazine Sulphate available in u.s. and if so where? My husband has als and saw a show on tv that said it might help. Looking for information.

Answer: Hydrazine sulphate has been used for years in the treatment of dementia. It is mildly effective in some individuals in increasing their memory and mental function. It is not very fashionable among physicians; however, all the controlled studies have shown some improvement in the treatment group as a whole. It should be started at small doses and advanced to about 8 mg a day watching for mental changes. It is a prescription drug. Side effects are fairly minimal.
