Hematology and Chemistry [posted

Question: Recently, I underwent a blood test and was handed the results. Most of it
was uneventful. However, I noticed some slightly high and slightly low marks. Could you
tell me what the following are in Hematology: MCH, MCHC, Lymphocyte and Lymph absolute. In
chemistry the Glucose was only 115, being elevated slightly.
Answer: MCH,MCHC are calculated numbers having to do with mean corpuscle hemoglobin, etc. Interesting, but generally useless except for certain unusual problems. The Lymphocyte and absolute lymphocyte refer to counts of a sub-type of white blood cell. These bounce around and can be elevated or low indicating certain problems. Generally, not a big issue. The glucose would be a little high only if you were fasting. Even then still normal.
