After Effects of Spinal Meningitis
Question: When I was 9 months old, I had spinal meningitas and forgot how to walk. I am now 17 and I was wondering if the meningitis could have had any mental effect on me. I am kind of slow sometimes and thought maybe that could be the reason why. Any info or advice you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Answer: You can get a clinical psychologist to perform testing and determine if you have limitations or deficits. Whether this would be due to the meningitis would be conjecture.

Spinal Meningitis
Question: What are the symptoms of Spinal Meningitis?

Answer: This depends on the organism causing the meningitis. Fungal infections have completely different symptoms than bacterial infections do. Most meningitis is either viral or bacterial and usually accompanied by a headache, still neck, nausea, and some visual disturbances.
