Metronidazole Vaginal Gel
Question: I would like to know if I can use this while I am having a period. If so, will it cause the effectiveness of the medication to differ?

Answer: It might depend on why you are taking the drug. Use for vaginal infections would be optimized while you are not having your period since the drug will achieve a higher level when it is not being mechanically flushed. However, it will still work and should be effective. Effectiveness in other parts of the body would not be effected.

Metronidazole
Question: Is there any reason to suspect that metronidazole and propranalol would have adverse reactions to one another when taken together?

Answer: Metronidazole has potential interactions with alcohol due to a structural similarity with antabuse. Propanolol has an alcohol side group and occasionally is recognized by the body as such(in the treatment of Familial Tremor for example). However, I have never seen an interaction with propanolol.
