Percodan's Generic Equivalent
Question: Was this the right generic drug for perdcodan. I had no relief of pain. I
feel a generic sub should have the same pain killing power as the drug ordered. Tell me
yes or no if endodan tab fits the strenghth of percodan.
Answer: Percodan's generic equivalent is a combination of oxycodone hydrochloride(4.5 mg) oxycodone terephthalate (0.38 mg) and aspirin 325 mg. Generic equivalents usually use 5.0 mg of oxycodone and 325 of aspirin and are if anything slightly stronger.
Percodan
Question: I'm curious about the drug Percodan. My dad has been taking it for many
years for pain, as prescribed by his doctor. I had some bad back pain, and he gave me a
few over a small period of time. What does this drug do to the body? Are the effects
harmful? I did have a brief high, or period of euphoria. Is this why the drug appears to
be addictive? What are the effects on the body?
Answer: Percodan is a combination of oxycodone and aspirin. Oxycodone is a
semisynthetic narcotic with strong analgesic properties. Like any narcotic, it is
potentially addicting and is chemically different from heroin and opium only in structure
and duration.
