Question: What are the side effects of Primaquine?

Answer: Primaquine is an anti-malarial drug particularly effective against P. Vivax and P. Ovale. In doses given for treatment and prophlaxis it has very few side effects. It can cause nausea, anemia, and elevated white blood cell count. In large doses it has other side effects, but is rarely given in these doses for usual treatment.
