Raloxifene Side Effect [posted 8/4/98]

Question: I am post menopausal and estrogen causes migraines. I would like to find something that would help prevent osteoporosis. I have tried Fosamax and Miacalcin, but had adverse effects to both. Is there anything else that I could try. I’ve read about raloxifene. Is there any research regarding side effects similar to estrogen (mainly migraines)?

Answer: I haven’t found any specific information. I have a couple of women on raloxifene without symptoms. You’ll just have to try it and see if it triggers your migraines.
