Question: What is a trachea?

Answer: The connection between your upper airway and your bronchial tree. It is round and cartilage containing. It is easily seen in your neck and called commonly the adams apple. It is mobile due to the hyoid bone, which holds it up and erect. It is the site where physicians perform surgery to insert breathing tubes called tracheotomies.
