Ultrasound Price [posted 8/4/98]
Question: I would like to know the price of an ultrasound.

Answer: It depends on the organ/s and the part of the country, but generally $200 - 400.

Ultrasounds
Question: How does ultrasound work?

Answer: Ultrasound works on the same principle as sonar. That is, sound is reflected off solid objects. The frequency of the sound and the applicator has a lot to do with the resolution of the returned sound signal. If you have ever shouted to produce and echo, you have been doing primitive ultrasound-- just a different frequency.
