General Information
Question: What is the primary purpose for usage of Vytone, and should it be administered to a patient who has been diagnosed with cutaneous mastocytosis?

Answer: Vytone is a type of steroid cream. In general, this may help cutaneous mastocytosis; but, in general it won't help. What I mean is this: try it and see if it helps. If helps keep using it; but, I don't expect to see much improvement with steroids. In general, mastocytosis does not respond to steroid therapy. If it responds, I'd question the diagnosis. However, we don't have many treatments so it is worth a try. I do have 2 patients who have gone to Vanderbilt University and are on experimental drug therapy for this condition.
