Plantar Warts [posted 1/13/99]
Question: My 12 year old daughter has planter warts. Her podiatrist has prescribed Tagamet for 2 months. I find this odd. I have not been able to find anything saying this treatment has been used. Please help.

Answer: Wouldn't be for the plantar warts. Somebody's made an error -pharmacist?

Warts & Grapefruit
Question: Hi there. OK, this is going to sound a little odd but here goes. I recently starting eating a lot of grapefruits as I have heard there is something in them that bonds with 'fat' in the body, and flushes them out of the system (preventing them from being digested when recently consumed I mean) Now here's the thing...I've had planter's warts on one foot quite badly for a couple of years now. I've been to my doctor on a semi regular basis to have nitrogen treatments..but not in a long time. Suddenly (within say 3 weeks ...my planters warts seem to be going away...does this make sense?? I know it sounds goofy..but it is the only thing to recently change in lifestyle that I can think of. Is there some type of naturally occurring anti-viral/bacterial agent in grapefruits to your knowledge??

Answer: None that I'm aware of ;but, you can't argue with success.
