Zofran [posted 1/7/99]
Question:A very good friend of mine in South America is having very hard time after
chemotherapy. Her symptoms vary from headaches, to nausea and vomiting. Furthermore, this
medicine is very expensive and she cannot afford to buy it. I was wondering if I could buy
the medicine here in the U.S. with or without her prescription and ship it to her. I
appreciate any help you can give us concerning this situation.
Answer:Most physicians will allow you to do this under the circumstances, I usually do anyway. However, you will need a prescription and not put it on your prescription plan (fraud). Check with your doctor.
Pregnancy
Question:A friend of mine wanted to know more about the Med. ZOFRAN and pregnancy.
Answer: Currently, there is no evidence that Zofran affects either fertility or
mutagenesis. Zofran is a selective 5HT3 blocking agent usually used for nausea
control-especially after chemotherapy. Some have used this for other causes of nausea with
fair results.
