Aneurysm [posted 11/24/98]
Question: What is it? And what can we do to get rid of
it or to help with it? Any recomendations?
Answer: Aneurisms are dilations of the blood vessels. Sort of like a
soft spot in a tire that balloons out. As the size increases, the strength of the blood
vessels lessens-like a balloon gets thinner with more inflation. The risk of rupture rises
rapidly with dilation. They must be surgically repaired once they reach a certain size.
