Question: I have been told that Inderal is a good prophylactic for migraines. I have also read that it can cause impotence in men. What I would like to know, is does it affect women sexually in any way? And, also, would this help the palpitations from mitral valve prolapes, as does the Lopressor that I am currently taking.

Answer: It often has the same effect on men and women in terms of sexual arousal and climax. Palpitations are commonly helped as long as they are not due to a slow heart beat and escape beats-then it gets worse.
