Question: I have had a blackish discharge from both breasts for a while. last mammiogram was negative. I have frequent headaches, recent weight gain, and numbness in both hands, also problems concentrating and occaisional memory lapses.

Any ideas what could be wrong? Any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Thank you

Answer: First, make sure the discharge has had a pap smear done to look for cancerous cells. If this is negative, get a mammogram looking for a cyst or absess. Finally, check your prolactin levels a common source of dischare(although usually clear or whitish). Some medications can cause this particularly anti-depressants. What medications are you taking?
