Questionable Diagnosis
Question: I have suffered several years with diverticulitis, well that is what they say! I am 45 and am in my 7th year with it. I am not sure what I have is not a problem with the pancreas. I have had high triglicerides and then they become really high I develop the problem that seems to be the colon, but could it be the pan.? my stool becomes really light and I hurt in the upper right abdomen to the upper right back! It really feels better when I eat a large meal!

Answer: You neglect to say what diagnostic studies have been done while you are sick. Has your amylase and/or lipase been checked? These are suggestive of pancreatitis if elevated. Has an x-ray of your colon been done. How do you respond to antibiotics with episodes? Pancreatitis would not be expected to respond at all.
