Drug Storage [posted 1/14/99]
Question: How does one get a list of which medications are safe to receive through
mail order insurance services where medications would not be safe sitting in a mailbox at
98 degrees and above? Please help me become an informed consumer for the safety of my
family and myself.
Answer: Sorry, not a clue. I think you would need to check each one individually. Do you have specific medications in mind?
Drug Storage
Question: I prepare my weekly regimen of drugs (Hytrin, Lasix, Lanoxin, K-Dur etc.)
and store them in a small plastic, seven day compartment container given to me by the
druggist. Although the container is opaque, I feel the snap lids are not air tight. Am I
safe in storing a weeks supply in this manner, or is my dosages by Friday/Saturday no
longer fully potent?
Answer: No problem.
