Question: What is the quickest way to cool off after exercising? I have tied showers and soaking in the tub but I still seem to perspire nearly as much as if I just sit still. I would no classify my sweating as excessive.

Answer: Surrounding yourself with cool water would be the fastest. Ingesting cold/ice water will also do it.

Amino Acid Supplements & Exercise
Question:What, if anything do amino acids do to a person's muscles, when they are taken after exercise? Our son uses them and we know nothing about them or if they are not okay to use.

Answer: Debated, but, don't seem to do anything different than the amino acids one eats every day in ones diet. There are 14 essential amino acids that must be in your diet for your body to function. Most people get sufficient levels in their diet. Eating purified amino acids is an expensive way to get what a balanced diet should supply.

Fat Burning
Question: When exercising what usually burns off first, fat or muscle, and how long does it take before this starts?

Answer: Initially, the energy stores in muscle are used. However, this does not result in loss of muscle mass. Secondly, the fat stores are mobilized to provide calories for energy. Lastly, the body will start metabolizing muscle and other organs to provide energy-this is after all other stores are exhausted.
