Question: I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the effects are from
sniffing liter fluid. I believe it can be deadly and/or make your mind
like a vegetable. These are effects I received from regular people not
specialists. I have reason to believe that a sibling of mine might be
doing this, so I’d like to know what to look for or what the outcome of
this could be.
Answer: Inhalation of hydrocarbons is usually detrimental to pulmonary function and leads to progressive decline. In excess, it can lead to mental status changes and death, depending on the inhaled hydrocarbon and any other drugs on board at the time.
