Question: Can you explain What is Pulmonary Hypertension? Constipation? Tremor?
Answer: Pulmonary hypertension is an elevated blood pressure in the pulmonary circulation. This circulation if from the right side of the heart through the lung and back to the left side of the heart. Normally, it is pretty low in pressure with systolics of 15-25 mm of mercury(versus 90-120 mm for the systemic circulation). If this rises it is called pulmonary hypertension. It is a major problem since the right side of the heart is not designed to handle high blood pressure and the lung and heart rapidly decompensate if it is not treated.
