Bromide
Question: Someone told me they were taking bromide.
It was in reference to indigestion. Have you heard
of such a thing? I am concerned because I thought
bromide was toxic.
Answer: They are probably referring to Bromo Selzer or something equivalent. Bromide in the pure form is potentially toxic. Bound in chemical form and buffered makes it a good antacid.
