Question: I work in residential treatment facility as a child care worker. I have a new child in my care that has been prescribed CARNATOR. I cannot find it in our refrences, what is it? We work with severe sexual, PTSD, ODD, ADHD, and reactive attachment disorder.
Answer: Carnitor is a naturally occurring substance required in mammalian energy metabolism. It facilitates long-chain fatty acid entry into mitochondria. It is used to treat patients with an inborn error of metabolism that results in secondary carnitine deficiency.
