Question: My son has asthma. He is 7 and has been taking flo-vent twice

a day, every day for the past 2 years. He has a voracious

appetite and is gaining weight. does this drug increase your

appetite and will taking it daily cause any adverse effects

on him such as liver damage or mood swings or a dependency?

It has been helping.

Answer: Theorectically can,but practically rarely does. The systemic effects of these drugs are very small. Since flovent is more potent than some of its predecessors, it could have more of an effect. But the effect on his health of not being able to breath is more serious.
