Question: I recently saw a segment on *Dateline* that talked of the dangers of Gentimicin. I was prescribed Gentmicin Sulfate Opthalmic solution for scratches on my eye. What are the dangers, if any, of this solution?
Answer: This is not absorbed into your system in any appreciable quantities. The risk of gentamicin is intravenous/intramuscular doses. About the only risk of the opthy solution would be occasional allergic reactions.
