Answer: Indomethacin is brand named Indocin and is made by Merck.

Question: I was taking Ibuprofen at 600mg, usually twice a day. Sometimes, only once a day and sometimes, three times a day for a period of 2 or 3, no more than 4 mos. When I went in for a routine physical they picked up elevated liver enzymes. A response I had to ibuprofen several years before when taking it for a fx fib. This time, as then they worked me up throughly r/o hepatitis A, B & C. and other liver disorders. Had a liver scan, and when to a hepatologist, etc. He confirmed that there was nothing wrong with me and with abstinence from ibuprofen my liver enzymes returned to normal. He said there was no data concerning the long term effects of liver enzyemes elevated due to NSAIDS but that it was probably a good idea to switch to another and he gave me Relafen which has proved either ineffective or only very moderately effective. My question: since ibuprofen works so well for me and I has evolving arthritis, and a current bout of plantar faciitis is there any new info on the long term effects of elevated liver enzyemes with NSAID use? suggestions? thanks kindly.
Answer: Not really, but sure sounds like you have it. Why not try the newer classes of anti-inflammatories, Vioxx and Celebre-both Cox 2 inhibitors. These are chemically in a different class. You should watch your liver functions, but this is what I would do.
Why Take Indocin for Migraines [posted

Question: Why would Terrell Davis, Denver Bronco, be taking Indocin for his
migraines? Does he have an arthritic condition? Does Indocin cause the blood flow to
increase or decrease to the brain? Does he take it as a preventative or on onset of the
migraine?
Answer: Aspirin and NSAIDS can be a preventative medication in
migraines in some patients.

Question: I need information on the drug Indocin (Indomethacin). My mother takes
it, in addition to Flexeril, and complains of dizziness, blurred vision, and paranoia.
Please discuss the cons of this medication. Also, discuss a alternatives that might have
less severe side effects.
Answer: Indomethacin is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID). It decreases
both pain and inflammation. General side effects are usually GI, diarrhea, nausea, ulcers,
etc. Occasional patients have trouble breathing or a rash. Vertigo, blurred vision and
paranoia would be extremely rare with this drug.
