Lorabid [posted 1/6/99]
Question:I need consumer information about this medication.
Answer: Lorabid is a synthetic antibiotic belonging to the class of
Beta-lactam drugs. Carbacephem, to be specific. It is one of the newer antibiotics and is
supposed to get to some of the more resistant type organisms. However, it is more
expensive. Side effects are nausea, diarrhea, and allergic reactions (pretty similar in
side effects to penicillin).
