Question: Hi I have a question concerning taking Miacalcin: I’m 27 and i have RSD i was just prescribed Miacalcin for the RSD in my left leg. Taking this won’t make me go into menopause or cause any problems when i want to get pregnant? I would like to have a baby in the near future, and we only take this if there are no permanent side effects. Tahnks Sara

Answer: There will be no effect on menopause or any permanent problems that I am aware of. Miacalcin is human calcitonin which only effects your calcium, it has nothing to do with estrogen, ovaries or any sexual aspect. Estrogen prevents osteoporosis as does miacalcin but by different mechanisms and there is no relationship between estrogen and miacalcin.
