Question: I HAVE HAD A RECENT FLARE UP WHAT THE DOCTOR HAS LABELED BURSITIS IN MY SHOULDERS. SHE GAVE ME A DIFFERENT MEDICATION THIS TIME TO REDUCE THE INFLAMMATION. THE MEDICATION IS CALLED MOBIC OR MELOXICAM.

WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THIS MEDICATION AND ITS POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS. IT REALLY WORKED WELL COMPARED TO NAPROSYN GIVEN IN THE PAST.

Answer: First, your shoulders do not have bursas, tendonitis maybe, but there is no bursa present in your shoulder. Mobic tends to have mainly gi side effects, nausea, diarrhea, gastritis etc. This would be the treatment for tendonitis in any case.
