Question:Can taking 880mg of NAPROXEN SODIUM (Aleve) per day result in a person:
1. losing their ability to maintain attention.
2. mask symptoms of pain excessively.
3. reduce the persons ability to understand what they have read.
All of these symptoms were experienced by a patient who was taking 880mg of NAPROXEN SODIUM (Aleve) a day for about a year straight.
Answer: Naproxen sodium has been around a long time and used for treatment of several conditions requiring a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. The prescription dosage ranges from 700 mg a day to 1000 mg a day. At this dosage, most patients will not experience the problems you are describing. However, if the attention deficit goes away with stoppage I guess it is a possibility. I wouldn’t suspect this as the cause unless it started with the initial dosage.
