Question: I’ve been taking Soma 350mg for 3 years now and I also have

been in the hospital 3 times in 2 years for my diverticulitis. I had a CT-Scan my last visit in the hospital and they found a mass on my liver. When I was released they had me take an ultra-sound of my liver and some blood tests. The blood tests came back with high levels of enzyeme’s (58) actually, the MD told me normal

range was 5-40. My question to you is what does Soma 350mg

do to the liver taken in high doses 30 a day.

I do not drink.I am 6’0 tall, and weigh 209. I take the Soma for a bad back, but I am becoming concerned with what

if anything that it may be doing to my liver. Any help you

could give me would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Stephen C. Pieratt

Answer: It might cause the elevated liver enzymes, but not the mass on your liver. I’d stop the soma while you get an evaluation of the mass.

Question: My doctor has prescribed it to me for lower

back pain. Is the pink side the Carisoprodol and the white side the

aspirin?

Answer: Actually they are orange/white. I’ve always assumed that the white is ASA due to the pill labeling (the orange is labeled SOMA), but I’m not absolutely sure – check with the company Wallace Labs: 609-655-6000.

Question: Please give me information on soma comp with codeine 16 mg tablets.

Answer: Soma comp with codeine 16 mg is short hand for Soma Compound With Codeine. This is a combination of carisoprodol, aspirin, codeine phosphate(this is the 16 mg part). Carisoprodol is a centrally acting muscle relaxant. It is combined in this pill with aspirin and codeine to give maximum pain and inflammation relief along with muscle relaxation. Drowsiness would be the most common side effect with this drug.
