Caffeineís Effects [posted 8/4/98]

Question: I was wondering if you knew what the affect of caffeine was on a persons body?

If a person was running on a treadmill, and had consumed caffeine, would it affect the personís pulse rate, amount of calories they burn of, and

distance they run? Also, do you know what distance on a treadmill is

measured in?

Answer: It would have a minimal/no effect on burning calories. There could be a small effect on pulse

rate depending on the dosage and the patients previous caffeine tolerance. Distances on tread

mills can be measured in either miles/hr or km/hr.
