High Conjugated Bilirubin [posted

Question: I would like to know if Gilbert Syndrome has anything to do with a high
direct (conjugated) bilirubin result. Everything I read speaks of the unconjugated
bilirubin. My results were as follows: 2.0 total, 0.8 direct and my indirect was in range
of 1.2. After fasting, my results were total 2.4 direct 0.9 and indirect 1.5. Test done 6
months prior and one year prior showed results of 1.0 and 0.8 for total bilirubin. I have
no history of jaundice. I have had breast augmentation surgery, which required 4
operations under sedation.
Answer:Mainly unconjugated, but you will see conjugated rises during
colds, infections or stress of any variety. I have this problem so I’ve done a fair amount
of reading on it.
