Question: We were wondering what this drug is prescribed for and what

it does.

Answer: Alprazolam is a drug which belongs to a class called

benzodiazepines. This includes valium, librium etc and is generally used

as a sedative. This is used a lot in anxiety conditions, sleep disorders

and over all agitation.
